Leanne Johnson

Producer and lead actor Leanne Johnson plays MARNI, a single mother, bartender, and pool hustler searching for a way out. Leanne is an Indiana based multi-award-winning actor known for bold and versatile character performances across multiple genres. She doesn’t shy away from challenging or uncomfortable narratives and infuses a powerful energy and intentional imperfection into her characters to deconstruct damaging stereotypes built up over a century of inaccurate representation of women in film. Leanne began producing and filmmaking in addition to acting to ensure authenticity in all aspects of making women's stories. Leanne’s determination to make Extraction, USA helped bring our film to life.
